Културен клуб "Гайда" има удоволствието да ви покани на прожекцията на най-новия български игрален филм, излязъл на широкия екран.

Стъклената река на режисьора Станимир Трифонов е сниман по мотиви от едноименния роман на Емил Андреев - български роман на годината за 2005 г.

Филмът е с английски субтитри. Вход свободен!

Ще се продава книгата на Емил Андреев "Стъклената река", по която е сниман филма.

The Glass River – film annotation
A sudden twist of fate changes the plans of the young French woman Hélène Thibault, who comes to Bulgaria at the request of her father. His last will is a special message, recorded on 3 CDs. She is charged with unveiling a great secret related to the mysterious founder of her clan Robert le Bougre – a renowned Bogomil-Cathar. Having devoted all his life to Bogomil studies, her father is deeply convinced that he was the one to disseminate The Secret Book of the Bogomils in France in the 13th century. The legend says he returned to Bulgaria where he ended his life as a saint, inhabiting a cave. The only legacy left by him is a parchment with illegible letters and symbols. Hélène must decipher them and grasp their hidden meaning.
The action takes place in the picturesque village of Gradishte, where the local church is being restored. Various human fates are interlinked in the church restoration process. Very authentic is the presence of the shepherd and the whore, the old widow and the old man. The sudden appearance of the sophisticated French woman revs up the spirits and brightens up the local scene. During her quest of The Secret Book she becomes entangled in a classic love triangle – between Victor, once a promising writer, now a treasure-hunter and Father Peter – an engineer, who became a priest.
A mysterious power haunts the church, where Victor hopes to discover the original manuscript of The Secret Book. Is this a mystification or one can just ascribe it to the old legends and beliefs hovering in the air?
